Temper Tantrum

The other day I finally decided to test mom. She was trying to feed me supper in my chair in the living room. I took 2 bites and then I noticed the tv was on and decided I wanted to watch tv instead of eating supper. Well mom didn't think that was a good idea. So she told me if I don't start eating she is going to turn the tv off. Well I didn't want to listen. So guess what? She turned the tv off. Can you believe she would do that, I didn't. So I gave her my evil eye and then started crying. But then I got really mad, mad enough I decided to hold my breath until my face turned red. Well a minute went by and mom finally gave in and turned the tv back on. I knew I would break her....and it only took a minute. After that I was happy and I started eating. Now I know what I can get away with and I got her wrapped around my little finger.

aaahh

I got to see my cousins, Ollie and Tori this past weekend. They are really silly. But so am I. We went to the park but I was so exhausted that I really didn't care to much about it. We hung out some more at my Grandma Vickie's.

I am really starting to try and make more sounds. I try so hard to get something other than "AAAHH" to come out but for some reason that is all that make for now.

Outside

We finally got our front porch finished this week. If any of you don't know what I am talking about, we have been doing some remodeling on the house. We extended our roof out in the front of the house, so now we have a brand new front porch. I like it a lot! Mom and I sat out on it today. I watched mom sweep the driveway and plant some flowers. I love being outside as long as I am in the shade. I don't like the sun too much.

My New Seat

Here is another one of my new contraptions. I got another device from my therapists. It is a seat that helps support me while I sit up. And I can sit up almost all day in it and not get worn out. It is also adjustable, I can put it to where I am sitting straight up or recline it just a little or a lot. But I like it almost all the way up. Because now I can see what's going on. I even got one to take to the babysitters. I like it a lot there because I can watch the other kids run around. It's especially nice on saturday mornings when I watch cartoons.

New Splints

I got some new splints for my hands that I am not to happy about. I have 2 different ones. One that I wear at night and sometimes when I take a nap and then another one that I normally wear during the day all the time now. The one that I wear at night (the one in the picture), stretches my hand out really good. It pulls my thumb and all of my fingers straight. I really don't like this one. It hurts a little but I am usually asleep when mom puts them on me so it doesn't bother me. The other one is a lot smaller, it is very similar to the one I had before. All it does is pull my thumb out, but I can still grab and pick up my toys. Which is very important. I don't know what I would do if I couldn't hold my favorite drum stick and my rings. Hopefully these splints will help open my hands up and be able to use them better.
I thought I only had to wear these when I am sleeping. I am awake so get theses things off me.

Happy Easter

I had a pretty good Easter. I got to go over to Grandma and Grandpa's on Saturday. Everybody was there, my Aunt Jen and Uncle Jason, Uncle Dave and Aunt Tori and my cousins Luke and Drew. I was so exhausted I didn't even hunt easter eggs, I let Luke and Drew do all the work. But I still got to take home some of the goodies.

I guess one of my favorite parts was hanging out with Drew though. He really is extra nice to me and always giving my kisses and always wanting to be right next to me. I can't wait until I get bigger so we can play together.

Better

I am feeling much better this week. My fever finally broke completely on Saturday. And I am back to my normal self. I am also back on schedule - back to the babysitters, back to eating better and back to sleeping better.

Fever

Well, after 12 hours of being at the hospital and 2 different hospitals. I still am not sure why I have a fever. They think I may just have a flu. Wednesday afternoon, I broke out with a high fever, mom gave me some medicine and cooled me down a little bit. But after my nap, mom took my temperature again and it was back up again. So mom called the doctor and he told us to go to the ER since his office was already closed. He wanted us to go and get a scan done to make sure my shunt was still working okay. Well we get to the hospital about 5:00pm and finally got to see the doctor after 3 hours of waiting. Good thing it wasn't too much of an emergency. First they wanted to do some blood work and take a chest x-ray to rule out anything else. After several hours of waiting on that, everything came back okay. So now they said the only way to find out if the shunt had an infection was to tap the shunt. What they do with that is stick a needle in my head and pull out fluid from my shunt. The only problem is that the doctors down here in Cape don't do that. So they sent us up to Children's hospital to get that done. So now the time is 10:30pm. So that was pretty much a waste of 5 1/2 hours. At about 1:00 we got up to the hospital. And of course the waiting game continues. They did all the tests and scans they needed and all came back fine. The doctors said that I would just have to tough it out and there wasn't much they could do. So at 5:00am we headed back home. What a long day. But I was a tropper and was very good. I stayed awake most of the time and slept part of the way there and part of the way back. So today I took several naps to catch up on my beauty sleep.

No More Cars

Mom and dad finally bought me the movie Cars. After I had been begging for it since Christmas. But thats not the point. I have heard so many good things about it and how good it is. Well I think it is the worst movie ever. Mom you can just take it back to the store. I don't know what everybody was talking about, it was very scary to me. All of the racing and loud noise was not appealing. I thought I would like it because I like when you make car sounds and crashing noises. But on tv it is a different story. It's much scarier. So no more of that at least for awhile.

Pinkeye

Guess what happens when you go to the babysitters? Apparently, everything that everybody else has, from colds to pinkeye. I came home on Monday and my eye was all matted shut, swollen and red everywhere. So I spent the next two days at my Grandma Vickie's, when mom and dad were at work. Wednesday, I even got to see my Aunt Tresa and Uncle Huts. They were down for the day, and I was glad to see them because its been awhile. I have been on an antibiotic to clear up my eye and it looks much better and I went back to the babysitters on Thursday. So I guess we will just have to wait and see what I come down with next.
