Here are the videos from the other day when I was lifting my head when I was on my belly and then when I was 'talking'. I was a busy little guy. I even clocked mom with my bat at the end of the second video. Enjoy!!

Snow days

If you don't live in the midwest, you probably are not aware of the weather we have been getting. It has been a mess. Ice, ice, and more ice and then add some snow on top of that ice. Luckily, we have not lost power (yet). I remember last year when the big ice storm came through and we lost power for 4 days. No fun at all. Even though mom was off today, we didn't get out and play in the snow. Maybe this weekend, because I am sure it will still be around. The nice thing about all this ice and snow is that we have been out of school. YEAH!! The only bad thing about it though is I haven't been getting any therapy either. So today mom took it into her own hands and worked with me for a straight hour. We worked on lifting my head up while on my belly and I did awesome. I have a video clip that I will add later. I also did a little bit of prop sitting and I did okay but I have done better. I also did a lot of imitating different sounds. So I guess I haven't really gotten off the hook.

Weekend getaway

This weekend I got to go to on a little short trip. Mom had to work and dad was helping my grandpa on the farm. So I had nobody to watch me except grandma who was going to St. Louis. So Friday, grandma picked me up from the babysitters and off we went. We went to my Aunt Jen's house and spent the night and then came back home on Saturday. It was a lot of fun. I got to stay up later than normal too and also sleep in on Saturday. Although I had a surprise visitor wake me up. Aunt Jen's dog, Daisy, decided to come into the room and give me a morning kiss and lay his head on my stomach. Apparently everybody thought it was pretty cute looking but I just wanted to sleep some more.
Maybe this little getaway will get me better prepared for our trip in February. We are finally going on a family vacation. We are going to Wausaw, WI (about 8-9 hours). Mom and dad are going to go skiing one day and hopefully we can find a place where we can go tubing/sledriding. And the place where we are staying at has an indoor waterpark. We are going with my aunts, uncles and cousins. It's going to be so much fun!
I also want to give a shout out to my cousin, Luke. He turned 6 years old today.

This is another photo from Christmas, my cousins and I were playing in our fort we built.

Chew Chew Chew

If you haven't heard before, I like to chew on things. My favorite is probably my shirt sleeve. I have ruined many shirts because of this (as you can see from this previous post). Mom is really getting frustrated with me. So the other day I started chewing on my sleeve and mom told me no and swatted my hand. I immediately returned the sleeve to my mouth and again she swatted my hand. We repeated this senario several times before I somewhat gave up on the whole idea. She returned to the kitchen and finished making lunch and when she came back she found me like this.

If she doesn't like me chewing my sleeve then how about my sock. She thought it was funny and was somewhat glad I outsmarted her. She was proud that I have some problem solving skills up my sleeve. I don't think she really cares if I chew a hole I my sock because they are little easier and cheaper to replace.

Ladies Man

Well I can't help but say - but the ladies love me. Who can resist this smile of mine. I was a total flirt yesterday at school and all the girls in my class surrounded me and wanted to play with me. What can I say, I am my fathers son.
I have been doing okay in school, although I got my IEP progress report back for the quarter today and I am not doing so well on some of my goals. One of my goals is to match pictures/colors/shapes with 75% accuarcy. I have only been doing it 25-50% of the time correctly. Before I started school I was matching fairly well. But my new therapist and I just don't have it quite down pat yet. I guess I better step it up. I am making progress on all my other goals. I haven't quite met any of them but I am for sure on my way. I still have half the year to go before schools out.
Last night, mom and dad worked with me on prop sitting. I sat completely by myself for 25 seconds by the time dad started counting. So who knows exactly how long I did it. I even did it a couple times after that also. But of course when mom got the camera to video tape me, I was worn out. Maybe we will try again tonight.
I also want to to send my prayers out to some of my friends. My friends Melaina and Hayden are in the hospital and could use some extra prayers. They have a long road ahead of them. I put a prayer request at the top of my page on the right if you want to check on their status. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Now this is the life!! I got an awesome new chair today. One of mom's friends, Jenny, had a chair that she was getting rid of and asked if I could use it. So mom said sure we'll take it. And it is not just any chair it is a recliner. Mom says I am getting too spoiled with my new bed and now this chair. I now have the best bed and seat in the entire house. I know where I will be hanging out after a long day.

On another note, my christmas break is over :( So this week is back to the normal routine. It may take me awhile to get back into the swing of things but hopefully it won't be too bad. I go back to preschool on Tuesday, which means I finally get all of my therapies. I have even been slacking on my therapies at home also. Mom and dad have been taking it easy on me with all the holiday stuff and running around, there hasn't been much time. I hope my therapists don't notice that I have been slacking. But I am pretty excited to go back to school and see all of my classmates again.

Happy New Year

I hope everyone had a happy and safe New Year's Eve. We went to a friends house last night and celebrated in the New Year. We all had a good time and all of the small kiddos even made it until midnight surprisingly. After a night like that, I made sure I slept in this morning. I didn't get up until 9:30 and even took a 2 hour nap this afternoon. Hopefully I still sleep good tonight.

An update on my new car bed. I LOVE IT!! I have been sleeping so good in it and have so much room. It sure didn't take me long to get adjusted to it.

I want to wish everyone a Happy and Healthy 2009.
