Eye Surgery

Tyler's eyes are somewhat misaligned which has given him some difficulty with focusing. So today he had eye muscle surgery to correct this.

The surgery went well and we may not see results for a couple of days. He did great during the surgery. It was outpatient, so we arrived at 6:30 and left at 11:30. WOW!! That almost didn't feel right leaving the hospital on the same day and just after 5 total hours. But I'm not complaining :)

The tough part now is going to be keeping him from rubbing his eyes. The incision was made under the eyelid so that is somewhat of a barrier and is protecting them. But we still have to distract him from rubbing them.

So if you see Tyler in the next couple of days, don't think someone beat him up. Because his eyes are a little swollen and blood shot.

Tyler patiently waiting.

After surgery.
The picture isn't the clearest and really doesn't show how bloodshot they are.

Thanks Erica. Tyler's was a horizontal alignment in each eye.

I think Cayman will have this same kind of surgery in the near future. I am not seeing much improvement in her misaligned eyes. Tyler gives me strength. He's such a trooper.

Kristen's right, he is a trooper!

Happy healing, Tyler!

What a brave kid. I couldn't imagine a very young kid having an operation like that. I admire his courage to go under the knife and had the operation on his eyes. I hope the operation goes well, so his eyes can function properly.
