Surgery Update

Tyler made it through surgery. We're staying at least 1 night in the Pediatric ICU because there were some concerns about Tyler's heart rate. It spiked a little during surgery, and is still just a little higher than normal. So hopefully tomorrow he'll be back to normal and we can be moved to a regular room.

Thank you to everyone who has been thinking of us today and keeping us in your prayers. We truly appreciate them ALL.

Waiting before surgery
I think he knew something was up because every time a nurse would come in to take his vitals or the anesthesiologist came to talk to us he would curl his lip.

Tyler being wheeled off
Tyler was actually smiling real big as he was being wheeled down the hall. I think he thought he was going on some kind of ride (If he only knew then where he was going).

The waiting begins.

Resting peacefully with security toy in hand..aka his football.
Not to fond of his cast

Ooohhh, that look on his face with the cast - it's amazing how a non-verbal child can really get their point across isn't it?!

And I have to say that I had a real moment seeing that football. It was just an amazing thought that it was touched by so many other children that day in Niagara and it's kinda like they are all there with him now cheering him on.

Best wishes for a swift recovery!

That look just says it all!! May Tyler forgive me for chuckling. He's just so darn cute when he's expressive.

That last photo is awesome. He's like "mom. I will express my displeasure via a look. I am NOT pleased with the situation"

No words necessary.

It's all in the eyes...
The casts remind me of Audrey's night-time braces. It took her a couple of weeks to adjust to them when we first put her in them... Prior to the braces she was in full leg casts bent 90 degrees at the knees.
I pray that he adjusts to them soon - I know that must be uncomfortable for him.

Michelle--that's so sweet to think that his ball reminded you of that and that everyone was with him :)
