New friends

Well, my first day at the babysitters was Friday. Mom dropped me off in the morning and I said "Adios". Mom was a little sad. But I made new friends pretty quick. There is another little boy, Grayson, who is about my age and as soon as I got there, he laid down on the floor next to me and patted my belly. He was really nice. We played all day. There was so much going on I didn't even take my morning nap and around lunch time I just passed out on the floor in the middle of all the excitement. Ms. Briana said I was a very good baby. Later that day, dad came and picked me up and I was so excited to see him. Finally a familiar face. I don't think I am going to be going back until Thursday and Friday next week, since mom is working at night the other days. I can't wait to see all my new friends.

Five

I have been sleeping much better lately. My 5th tooth finally came in last week and since then I have been sleeping like a baby. I usually go to bed around 9:00 and wake up around 6:00. I haven't been as whiny and fussy either. I also discovered I like to laugh. It's more of a little giggle than a laugh. But dad likes to tickle me and I laugh every time. Even when he doesn't tickle the anticipation gets me so excited that I laugh out loud. I have also learned how to sort of clap. I don't open my hands up, I leave them in a fist and clap them together. I sure am showing those doctors I am learning stuff.

Improvement

Sorry I haven't updated in awhile. But I've been really busy and so has mom. She had to leave me this past week. Yes she finally got a job. But that means I get to spend extra time with others. I got to go to grandma Vickie's one day and to the farm another day and spend the night. That was a lot of fun. And of course I was on my best behavior. I get to go to the babysitters for the first time on Friday. I went to my dad's softball game last night. I was cheering for him but it must not of been good enough because he got his butt kicked (I hope I don't get in trouble for saying butt). They lost pretty bad. But I still told him good game.
Today, mom, dad and I took a road trip to St. Louis. I had another doctors appointment. They took another picture of my head. And guess what? My brain has gotten bigger. The doctor said it had expanded even more from the last time. So that's great news! I try to tell people that I'm getting smarter all the time. I mean I'm interacting, I smile, I laugh, I even cry sometimes. I still only get out vowel sounds when I talk but I am practicing smacking my lips together to make other sorts of sounds. So I'm working on it. I can't do everything at once. Then I wouldn't be able to impress you everyday.

Change of routine

Well if you all didn't know. Mom is back to work. She started this week. I haven't had to go to the babysitters yet because she is working really late and dad is home at that time usually. So I get to see more of dad now. Which is pretty cool. He plays a lot of fun games with me...like airplane! But he's not quite sure of the whole routine yet. Tuesday night, he fed me and gave me a bath but he forgot to brush my teeth. I tried to tell him. Then Wednesday night he fed me, gave me a bath and brushed my teeth. But he forgot to comb my hair. And when you don't comb my hair, it gets all curly on top and I look like a girl. But no harm done. I am always asleep by the time mom gets home at midnight, but last night I wanted to tell her good night. When she got home I decided to get up and tell her hi and then fell back to sleep after she tucked me in again.
Tonight I get to go to my grandma Vickie's house for a little bit while mom and dad are at work. So I'm pretty excited to see her. She always feeds me some sweets. Sshhh...don't tell mom. And then tomorrow night I get to stay overnight at my grandma and grandpa's house. So I know I'll get spoiled there too. I think I am going to like this whole work thing for mom.

No sleep

Well another night of no sleep. I think my teeth are really bothering me. I decided I would go to bed at 7:30. I was really tired. Yesterday was a busy day for me. I went to my Aunt Tori and Uncle Dave's house to celebrate Mother's Day. And I didn't really want to take a nap. I took about an hour nap in the morning but that was it. There was to much going on and to many people wanting to hold me. So therefore I went to bed at 7:30. I woke up at 11:00 and mom gave me a bottle since I fell asleep without getting one. But then I decided my teeth were bothering me and was fussy until about 3:00 and then mom gave me another bottle hoping I would go back to sleep. I think I fell asleep about 3:30 but I put up a fight. But once I fell asleep, I didn't wake up until 9:30 this morning. That felt good sleeping in.

Robin Hood

I watched my first movie last night. Mom and dad bought me Robin Hood the Disney version. I really liked the beginning. It started out with a rooster singing and whistling. And I thought it was the funniest thing ever. I probably laughed the first 5 minutes of the movie. Then after that I lost interest. But I did like the part where they sing. It was hilarious.

Restless

I don't know what my deal is but I keep getting up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep. I was up twice last night. I went to bed around 8:30 (which is pretty early for me) and woke up crying around 11:00. I think I was having a bad dream because dad said he came in and tried to calm me down but I was still kind of sleeping and once he woke me and I saw his face I was fine. It took me awhile to fall back asleep but once I did I was back up again at 12:30. Mom gave me a bottle and put me back in bed hoping I would go back to sleep but I wasn't quite ready. I laid in my crib for about 45 minutes talking to myself and then I finally dosed off. Then after that I didn't wake up till the morning at 7:00. I think my teeth are bothering me a little bit too. So that may be part of the problem. I am still waiting for that other top one to pop through. Anyways, I hope I sleep better tonight (at least mom hopes I do).

Switch

What a busy week! Mom has been dragging me around and meeting several different babysitters. Mom had a weird feeling about that Stacey. She said she was really nice and all but there was just something about her that she wasn't sure of. So we were on a hunt for a babysitter the past week and a half. And we finally found a good one. Her name is Ms. Brianna. She has quite a few kids she takes care of but I think I will be able to hold my ground. She has twin boys that are 4 years old and a 9 month old boy. And then she also takes care of a 1 year old girl and a 5 month old girl. I think I will have a lot of fun there. And if you haven't heard yet, my mom finally got a job at Drury. So that means I will be getting to go to the babysitters in a short while. She starts next week but she is going to be working nights the first week while she is training. But after that I will be going to the babysitters. I know mom will be sad but I'm ready.

New toy

What's gold and shiny and makes a lot of noise? My new favorite toy. Mom always likes putting a blanket over my face and play peek-a-boo. Which I think is pretty funny. But now she wants me to reach up and pull it off. Well I don't want to work that hard...I don't like lifting my hands above my head all the time. The therapist thought maybe if mom put something lighter, like a tissue, I would pull it off. So mom went and found a gold tissue paper, one of those that you use for wrapping. And I love it. I love to crinkle it up and make a lot of noise with it. We played peek-a-boo for awhile but I mainly just wanted to scrunch it all up. I played with that for hours last night and drove mom crazy. The cheapest toys are always the most fun.

Pull, pull, pull

I have discovered HAIR. And when I see it, and I can get a hold of it, I pull and yank on it. I think it is funny, but mom thinks it hurts. It's not like I pull hard, although I did pull some out the other day. She didn't think that was very funny. But I told her it will grow back and that made her feel better. I even try to pull dad's hair sometimes, but his is a little harder to grab on too. But I still try to get a hand full.

Babysitter

I got to meet my new babysitter today. Her name is Stacey. She seems really nice. She babysits 2 other kids. She has a 21 month old girl (AJ) and a 2 year old boy (Dagen?). AJ is her daughter. I don't think she liked me very much. She was a little jealous of me at first, especially when her mom was holding me, but I think she got used to me after awhile. Hopefully it won't be an every day thing for her. I think I will have fun there but probably not as much fun as I do at home with mom. But it will be good for me to be around other children. I'm not sure when I will start going there since mom hasn't found a job yet. But hopefully pretty soon, because dad tells me she'll be working for him if she don't find anything soon. And I heard that he's not an easy guy to work for.
