Still waiting

I'm still waiting for that other tooth to come in on the bottom. I think I have another one coming in on the top too. The one on top might come in before the other one does. They sure are taking there precious 'ol time. A hamburger sounds pretty good right about now. But I guess I'll just have to wait.

On the Go!

I got to take my first road trip this past weekend. I went to visit my cousins, Ollie and Tori, in Peoria. I did very well. I slept most of the way and mom and dad only had to stop once for me to eat. But man was it a long trip, it took 5 1/2 hours. Once we got there it was much better. I got to stretch out and see my aunts and uncle. That first night though I didn't want to go to bed until midnight....what do you expect I slept the whole way up. On Saturday, I got to play with Ollie and Tori...well Ollie pretty much did his own thing and Tori just made me cry. She kept making these weird noises that scared me. But I got used to it and we ended up having a lot of fun. We all went out to eat and then Ollie made me a stuffed tiger and named him Ty. He's such a nice cousin. Mom and dad had to buy me a hat because it was sooo cold and windy. I also got to see my Aunt Annie and Uncle Dale. Sunday morning, we came home and I did pretty well on the way home. We stopped and ate in St Louis. But mom was in to much of a hurry because once she put me in the carseat I decided to spit up everywhere. So it took a little longer but other than that I had a great first road trip.

Hands...well one!

I've discovered I have hands...well only one. I like holding my arm straight up and looking at my hand. I haven't quite figured out what to do with it yet except chew on it. Mom always tells me I have another hand but I haven't found it yet. Maybe someday.

Party all night long!!

I stayed up all night last night. I went to bed at 10:00 but got up at 3:30 and didn't go back to bed until 6:00. I just wanted to play. But mom wasn't to happy with me because she wanted to sleep. But I said forget about that. I guess I was just wondering where dad was at (he was in St. Louis...skiing without me). I'll try and be nice tonight, but I'm not making any promises.

The waiting game

I have my first tooth but now I'm just waiting for another one to come in. I can feel another one try to poke through but it just won't come. I like to put my whole hand in my mouth and chew on it, but I don't think that's helping. But it sure does make my gums feel better. I think swishing my spit around in my mouth is a lot of fun too. Mom and dad make fun of me when I do it, and I get spit everywhere because instead of swallowing it, I like to spit it out everywhere.

I'm getting much stronger. I can hold my head up for about 8 seconds all by myself. I decided not to resist when mom makes me sit up anymore. I used to arch my back and throw my head back. But I can see a lot more stuff when I sit up, even if mom has to help me hold my head up.

Weekend activities

Man, what a busy weekend. I got to go to my cousins, Luke and Drew's, birthday party on Saturday. Which was a lot of fun! And then Sunday was my first Superbowl. Go Steelers!!! I even did some betting and ended up winning $5, but then I gave it to mom and she lost it in a game of poker. See if I ever give her my money again. But, man I'm exhausted. I was so worn out that I slept all night.

Life so far

This is a continuation from my other webpage. I think this one is much better anyways....more pictures. For those of you who haven't seen my other webpage. Here's an update. My name is Tyler and I was born on July 27, 2005. I weighed 8 lbs 9 oz and was 22 inches long.

I have had a few bumps in the road since I've been born. I was born with hydrocephalus, which means I have fluid on my brain. But, luckily there was a surgery that fixed that. I had a shunt placed in my head when I was only 4 days old to drain the excess fluid. I ended having to stay in the hospital for 3 weeks before I got to come home. Which didn't last for long. Six days later, I had to go back to the hospital because my shunt malfunctioned and I had an infection. So 2 more weeks in the hospital, which wasn't fun at all. But I got a brand new shunt and it's been working great!

So now I am 6 months old. I weigh 15 lbs 5 oz and 26 inches . I am smiling, and cooing, and laughing a little. I just got my first tooth last Saturday, which is pretty exciting. I didn't know what it was at first. I kept touching it with my finger and it kept poking me. Luckily, my parents told me it was a tooth and everything was ok. Now my dad thinks I can eat anything. Anyways, keep checking in for more updates

Tyler's first BLOG

Hi! Yesterday, my Grandma told me that I should start a blog for everyone to read. For those of you who don't know what a blog is, it's simply a journal of my daily/weekly/monthly thoughts and activities. This is where I get to tell the world what I think, and what I'm doing. I can also post pictures of myself, my friends, cousins...and anyone else I happen to hang out with. I am a very busy little guy. So, here's the first day of many....welcome to Tyler's Trip!
